THE AREA

The apartment is in the heart of the Museumkwartier (Museum quarter), the area between the Oudegracht (old canal) and Nieuwegracht (new canal) and the surrounding streets and alleys, being the south part of down town Utrecht. This area consists of Medieval canals with the unique wharves and cellars, small courts, churches and musea. From the guestroom everything can be easily reached by foot. Museum Speelklok tot Pierement (www.museumspeelklok.nl) is a 3 minute walk, the Central Museum with the Dick Brunahuis (www.centraalmuseum.nl) a 7 minute walk and the Railway Museum (www.spoorwegmuseum.nl) can be reached in 10 minutes.

The Oudegracht is famous for its unique wharves and accompanying cellars. These cellars were used for storage of goods brought by ships. Nowadays they are delightful restaurants and pubs that have beautiful terraces with wonderful views over the water. The guestroom also has a beautiful view over the canal and warves.

Utrecht’s streetlevel is also lively, with all the shops you need plus lots of brasseries and pubs of all kind. Shoppingcentre “Hoog Catharijne” , the largest mall of Holland, is only a 5 minute walk away.

We’re happy to advise you about everything you need to help make your stay in Utrecht an unforgettable one.
